The Great Get Together was inspired by Jo Cox, who was tragically murdered on 16th June 2016. In conjunction with The 3 Million Manchester and Europia, Manchester for Europe arranged a family and friendship picnic in Heaton Park.
We believe that there is a groundswell of people who reject divisive politics, and simply want to bring our communities together and celebrate all that unites us.

Around 50 adults and a good number of children attended, enjoying the sunshine we were blessed with on the day, and each others' company. Lovely food, the children playing, the laughter, the talking and the saxophonist busker we accosted to entertain us - it really was a great get together!
